SMG Gymnasts First on Beam at Junior Olympic Nationals

The 2018 Optional Team season concluded with Junior Olympic National Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio. There were 8 gymnasts representing our club at Nationals. Mia Heather competed with them, having been named an alternate for the Region 1 Team. At this meet, the gymnasts competed on the Region 1 Team, not as a club. However, adding up the scores as a club, the SMG “team” earned the highest beam score with 29.050. Sophie Parenti won 3^rd on bars, Ui Soma and Lillian Lewis won 1^st on Beam, and Madison Dagen earned 2^nd on beam. Lewis and Soma earned 3^rd all around for their age groups and Lewis, Parenti, and Soma all earned a place on the JO National Team. Congratulations to all the gymnasts and to Coaches Armen and Oksana!
